After telling this latest install NO on installing Avast, it did it anyway! I'm still going over this machine looking for traces left behind.
If it's going to happen, it will happen to me.
Something odd but cool just happened
I just opened up my Win8.1 VM to update it(didn't do it yet for patch Tuesday), and update the software, as I don't use it that often(usually to help people over at Eight Forums when I can.
Any how I opened Ccleaner so it would tell me an update is ready and offer me the link to open my browser, and when I clicked ok, it just started updating within Ccleaner itself.
Being the free version I should have to go get it myself at the builds page(safest way to get it with out anything else piggbacking along).
This was a surprise, and a first for me:)

I use CCleaner, but the portable version. Sounds like it was the installer that was compromised.
