CCleaner (and any MS or otherwise cleaner) will skip any app that is running or running in the background.

Edge has a propensity for wanting to run in the background and pre-launch itself (for your convenience per MS). This prevents cookies and any other data from being messed with. Edge is open, even in the background.

Check 2 things:

1) Disable the Pre-launch of Edge: Enable or Disable Microsoft Edge Pre-launching in Windows 10

2) Settings>Apps: Disallow Edge to run on background.

Sign-off or reboot. This should clear that up.

I am on there now, and they do not list that version you got ANY Where on their site....yet.

Major Geeks have listed this release with download links to their own server, however the link they supplied to the CCleaner server only come up with the previous version.

Yup, but if you click on the version history, it points to the 5.59 version still .....no news about this new update on CCleaners site yet.
