Is CCleaner still good? I stopped using it after the whole malware incident. I also don't trust Avast, who bought Piriform (the CCleaner dev), with my privacy. I switched to using Windows' built-in cleaning tool.
I have not had any issues I can see..

CCleaner is a very valuable asset when used wisely. Disk Cleanup is very good, too, but they are different beasts with some overlapping uses.

Prevailing sentiment here on TenForums is that both the "registry cleaner" and the "driver updater" are best ignored in CCleaner, but there are many uses for this versatile tool, and I, for one, wouldn't be without it.

Best to use the portable version as it doesn't "call home" and to ignore the registry cleaner and driver updater which is only available on a paid version anyway.

    I agree completely.

Although I admit, I'm running a portable version, a couple months old.

Still, I believe CCleaner offers value.

I use the portable version too. It even auto updates to the same directory where you stored the portable version.

Well that's not worth updating for, it's there own fault when they slam their own servers and DDOS themselves

We’ve added a short intro to the product to give newcomers a bit of guidance

    Smoother CCleaner experience
