Hope the clean install works for you. Mine never starts up and automatically starts cleaning. The Off switch works here.

But, without knowing the exact sequence of actions, I turned off the computer for a few hours, I went back to it and perhaps I wanted to redo a test by checking-unchecking these options, and the problem with the icon at startup came back.

I then checked smart cleaning and automatic updates, restarted the computer, started ccleaner to uncheck smart cleaning and automatic updates, and restarted the computer. The problem is no longer there.
Now I don't touch anything in ccleaner and hope it stays that way.

I will come back to update here.

Mine has always worked fine ....I never have check marked that feature.

Me too it always worked fine when I updated ccleaner. It's since yesterday or this morning when I updated to version 5.74.8198.
