The clean install fixed the problem. Before this clean install with smart cleaning unchecked and automatic update unchecked I still had the ccleaner icon in the system tray with a start entry in the task manager.
But, without knowing the exact sequence of actions, I turned off the computer for a few hours, I went back to it and perhaps I wanted to redo a test by checking-unchecking these options, and the problem with the icon at startup came back.
I then checked smart cleaning and automatic updates, restarted the computer, started ccleaner to uncheck smart cleaning and automatic updates, and restarted the computer. The problem is no longer there.
Now I don't touch anything in ccleaner and hope it stays that way.
I will come back to update here.
Thank you. Since yesterday after several shutdown and restart, no issue.
