Very new to the forum, apologies for any questions found stupid or repetitions of questions already answered elsewhere. Under the stress of a bricked system one loses some wisdom and some ethics, sorry.
Case: totally unbootable Win10 laptop, with none of the usual built-in repair/recovery functions working or accessible at all. Found your tool (excellent job and thank you very much!) and managed to boot from a USB drive, but am rather ignorant about the tools included and my problems start here:
- Using the in-tool Explorer I sometimes see, and sometimes do not see the host main HDD. On some boots it appears, and on some boots it doesn't?
- On the couple of occasions when it showed up I managed to transfer some of my data (valuable work content) to backup drives, but there is still lots there.
- I tried to fix it using some of the tools but they either refuse to work with the drive, or start and then hang/freeze. Also a plain sfc /scannow from admin command prompt (when host drive is visible) starts but hangs/freezes shortly after that.
- I suspect badly damaged HDD (its a Toshiba 250GB SSD), possibly messed partitions and system files. In the last >5 boot attempts it fails to show up and I cannot attempt any diagnostics or repairs.
Any ideas of tools or techniques I might use to (a) see the drive after USB boot with Win10PESE, and (b) run checks - in what order?
Many thanks for any tips and suggestions.
