SFC Scannow and Dism RestoreHealth - Image Health - Repair Corrupt Files
Here is a program to help users with corrupt windows files..
This program will run System File Checker and DISM commands to repair an online Windows image
and will also look for the setup media to use as a repair source

    Step 1: Download and Extract > IMAGE_HEALTH to a root folder ( C:\image_health )
    Step 2: Right-Click IMAGE_HEALTH.CMD > Select Properties > Select Unblock
Step 3: Insert your Windows Setup Media ( Mounted ISO or DVD or USB )
Step 4: Right Click on IMAGE_HEALTH.CMD and Run as Administrator

To Download Official Windows Setup Media > Use Option #16
This Program supports any Windows 8/8.1/10 Setup Media with an Install.wim or an Install.esd

    * Edited Original post edited as I overlooked instruction to use Option 16 to download compatible source media. Some of my original problems may have due to incompatible media
    * Edited post used Option 16 to download iso for Windows 10 Pro x64 Creators Update
    * I believe my system specs match this download
    *
*Edit 2: See subsequent post. I think repair problem isolated to .NET Framework 4. But still a question on selecting Unblock

    1. I followed instructions: downloaded the tool, extracted to root folder C:\ImageHealth
    2. I right click ImageHealth.cmd->Properties but don't see Unblock under General or any other tab????

    • I ran Option 1. It said "Component store repairable"
    • Ran Option 2: It said "Source files could not be found". On to Option 3

    • But first used Option 16 to download ISO that matches my system specs. I mounted the iso which i see apears a

    Update:

I ran sfc and looked at the CBS.log. Looks like I'm lucky. Only one repair problem appears related to .Net Framework 4
    Code:
2017-11-26 20:43:53, Info CSI 00003991 [SR] Beginning Verify and Repair transaction

Will try and tackle that later....

But still one question re: selecting Unblock? Didn't see that in Properties

When you Download files from the Internet, sometime they are blocked from running by your PC, thus you have to UNBLOCK the program to allow it to run... Thus in your case - it was not applicable.

The hash mis-match is a MS issue and should be resolved by MS in a future update..

This tool is completely different to Macrium Reflect. This is a repair tool, Macrium is an imaging tool.

    Win10 Build-1709

Hello all, I'm new ..and very frustrated... I built a PC for my brother for Christmas. I"m a field tech, but not as able with software as I am hardware. I was in such a rush to get all the pieces together that when the last part (SSD) came I literally took it out fo the box and installed Windows 10 on it (build 1709) Since the machine I was rebuilding (Lenovo Think Centre M78 SFF) was fairly new (UEFI able BIOS) and Win10 was the latest version I thought nothing of a straight install.. Yeah, anyway it partitioned everything in a MBR setup and just when I was gonna rebuild the OS installation (wipe all partitions and convert) I found out about the mbr2gpt tool that MS just came out with. Well it's available from build 1703 forward, so I gave it a shot even though it's recommended to be used in WINPE environment. It fails in when I use in in Windows and later the tool would "break" -would tell me that "mbr2gpt has stopped". So I spend the rest of the day yesterday trying to build WinPE bootable media -to no avail. When I found Kyhi's download, I kissed the heavens, however when I try to use mbr2gpt in his rescue WinPE it doesn't recognize the tool and tells that.

All that said I'm feeling really stupid right now and in too much of a Christmas rush to think allot. I haven't used PE since the Vista days so it's possible I'm doing something wrong. For the record I'm following a fairly reliable write-up though.

I'm not too proud to beg, so somebody please take pity on my wretched soul and help me ASAP to get WinPE to recognize the mbr2gpt tool so I can finish this project and move on to the rest of the presents.

The best I can figure is that Kyhi's rescue WinPE iso is either created before build 1703 or I'm not properly asking for the tool in the WinPE command prompt.

Hi again, so in my rush to get help I passed by the fact that this post has been dead for 500+ days (first mistake) and then failed to recognize the Kyhi's rescue PE had a partition program on it that did the conversion for me (mistake 2)(took less than 30 seconds) *shakes head* I'm happy.. it's just a bit of let-down after all my combing the web for answers on how to build a WinPE so I could use this just-invented-magical-tool of Microsoft's. It would have been nice to use it with success.

The good of it is, the job is done and I now will look for the time I need to figure out how to build custom WinPE loads for any future needs. Thank you Kyhi, you really saved my frustrated butt. I tip my hat to thee sir. Merry Christmas .

Not dead @AlwaysDaStudent, it's continually being updated. You also missed the "Last edited by Kyhi; 20 Jul 2017..." at the bottom of post #1 :)
