Ah, that's awesome, Navy. Many thanks. Is it easy to use? Just seems like black magic to me imaging USBs!
Create an ISO of it perhaps: create iso from flash drive
Could also just zip it then unzip to a flash drive formatted the same as the original.
I can probably do that. When I have time today I will edit out one of my basic scripts to exclude some of the processes it does as most will not have use for those since they're pretty much exclusive to server deployment. They all act as a DISM.API wrapper that call either vbs or c# scripts using the API. I'll see if I can toss one together that people can run that will generate a PE build with a simple script you can run with PShell, and upload the apps used in the PE environment, too.
Hi! I'm using Kyhi's "Win14393PESE_x86 ISO v170116" and the "MODIFY WINPESE" from the first page.
I only updated CCleaner to the latest version.
Following the instructions in the readme file for Modify WinPESE everything seems to go great until i try to boot from it.
It doesn't matter if i boot from a usb flash drive, or a dvd i get the same error on 3 different pc's:
RECOVERY Your PC/Device needs to be repaired. The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. File: \windows\system32\boot\winload.exe Error code: 0xc0000225.
I've tried this in Windows 7, and Windows 10. I've also tried to add the updated files via the DISM command with no luck. I'm obviously missing something here but i can't figure it out. Thanks.
what files/folders are on the USB ?
just copy the modified boot.wim into the SOURCES folder of WinPESE_x86
then copy the contents (files & folders) inside the WinPESE_x86 Folder to USB
By the way - not sure CCleaner works with a remote registry
Let me backup a bit.
You were able to boot the contents of the ISO you downloaded ????
If so just rename the current boot.wim on bootable USB to boot.wim.old and then copy your modified boot.wim into same sources folder
