    Hello,

Downloaded this tool. Extracted with 7-zip and copied all files to a USB (FAT-32). Got x64 version for UEFI.

Now, on a Win-10 UEFI laptop, trying to restart the laptop with usb plugged in, but it does not boot to this tool, boots to Windows.

    Disabled SecureBoot also.

Wondering if I should change boot order in bios as well or should this USB be automatically be first looked at while booting up?

    Please let me know.

You would have to go into your boot menu 0 usually F12
And then select UEFI USB to boot from

or set BIOS to boot from USB First

Can't Boot Win14393PESE_x64 ISO v170116 (Bootable PE Rescue Disk)

The machine is dual boot with Win 10 Pro and Win 7 Pro. I was reinstalling Win 10, screen said approx. 60% of files completed, then it attempted a reboot and a BSOD appeared saying "Recovery..... your PC needs to be repaired". Error code is oXc0000225. In the boot manger I see Win10, Win 7 and a new one "Windows Setup". None will boot.

I built the bootable disk for Win14393PESE_x64 ISO v170116 (Bootable PE Rescue Disk). I get the same BSOD saying "Recovery..... your PC needs to be repaired". Error code is oXc0000225.

I get this same error when trying to boot from a Win10 Install disk, Win 7 install disk and Win7 System Repair Disk. I have been able to boot from an XP Install disk, get into Command Prompt and view the file structures.

    Any help is appreciated.

You have to select WinPESE via your boot menu - Or any Installation media for that matter
or - set USB as first boot device..

Can't Boot Win14393PESE_x64 ISO v170116 (Bootable PE Rescue Disk)

Yes - I did that. I can see the cd Bootable PE Rescue Disk reading and hard drive is active and then the BSOD screen appears. It also happens with any bootable Win CD except XP.

Upon Consideration > Most Windows 7 OS did not use UEFI...
Boot from Rescue USB - non UEFI (Standard / Legacy)

    Kyhi,

This machine does not have UEFI capability so the Rescue disk is booting in standard/legacy mode. Still I get the BSOD. I am guessing the file structure of the hard drive is damaged. I was hoping the Rescue Disk would have the repair tools to fix the hard drive.
