I can extract files from the ISO Image to a USB with RMPrepUSB; but not great if I have to burn them later.

    Hi Guys

I need to burn an ISO to a USB. At the moment I'm using Kyhi's Recovery Disc on this laptop; I haven't got access to another laptop at the moment; any suggestions?
What ISO do you need to put on a USB drive? See the post right above yours for how to do it manually.

You don't need Rufus on most modern systems , once the USB is formatted Fat32 you can mount the ISO ( Right click ISO and choose Open with Explorer ) it will appear like a DVD ( or CD) Drive in Windows Explorer and then you can copy the files from the mounted Drive to the USB Drive.

If you are trying to boot a legacy system without a UEFI Bios you will also need to make the USB Drive Active.

    Directions at the site say
Extract ISO to Fat32 Formatted USB Stick.. Reboot and select USB as Boot Device to boot into WindowsPE
How did you create a bootable DVD?

Odd thing, tried my Macrium, Win 10 and Kyhi boot DVDs on the same laptop, same BIOS- but now Kyhi's boot disk is only found at boot if I change the BIOS to boot in non-UEFI mode.

I've never done that before. Previously all DVDs booted without any problems. I'm trying to imagine what might have changed...

Last month when I was attempting to repair a HDD, I changed boot to non-UEFI mode. Ran utilities on USB to fix bad sectors, then rebooted and switched back to UEFI mode. Hard drive was corrupted. I don't know if it was a coincidence of a bad sector perhaps not addressed within operating system files range or if the switch screwed up something.
