I suspected it might be a bios setting of some kind - but don't know why.
I decided to research a bit about it, apparently UEFI asks the display adapter for its native resolution (if it's GOP-compatible or smth like that) and windows PE takes that native resolution.

There's somethig about Secure Boot that forces UEFI to report a native resolution of 680x800 to Windows.

Though not connected with KYHI ISO, I have made an ISO directly from oven winbuilder with win10pese. I have a problem that icons are arranged before display driver is loaded and after driver loaded same arrangement exists with outgetting rearranged after change of resolution. If I right click I get an unknown error. How to go about it?

I made one a while ago, but I didn't use winbuilder. Do you have the same problem with this?

It is a well know Macrium Reflect issue that for some devices, if you boot from a usb drive, it reports resolution as 640x480 but if you boot from a hard drive you get the full resolution. It is related to the Bios and GOP not being fully Win PE 10 compatible.

    Your issue certainly sounds related.

If you create the Macrium Rescue drive using Win PE5, it usually works.

Apparently the bios of some pcs just does not properly support win pe10. Lenovo pcs are particularly bad for this.

The commands are contained in the batch scripts. It is fairly complicated to do without a script as quite a few steps. Even if you look online, most guides use a form of script.

Really, you need to study the scripts and understand what they are doing - here are some examples.

Adding Windows PE to Your Windows 7 System | IT Pro

    BCDEdit Notes

An easy way to do it is to use easybcd.
Thnx for the clarification. You weren't kidding, that script code looks serious.

The Script may be titled as PESE but the script allows you to choose the Drive Letter of the partition and allows you to create a Custom Name for the Boot Title..

So it does all that you would want it to do, If booting from ramdisk - Boot.wim
As you said it works perfectly..
    Fair enough...

If I updated the partition files (e.g... I create the boot menu based on one version of the bootable partition but later update the partition files), will the computer automatically boot to the partition or do I have to reuse the script again?

    Hello Kyhi,

I have been trying to map a drive to my Asus Rt-AC66U-B1 router from Windows PE SE and I just cannot get it done. Do you have any idea how to do this? I can map to another laptop while in Windows PE SE without any problem.
