Thanks Bree it has always been quite confusing to me regarding OEM keys and my idea was that if I bought a new OS in the past for a build then that is the OEM key.
Now with Showkey it comes up with these installed keys so I am guessing that the seller I bought my current machine had the OEM key to install Windows 10 Pro with and Microsoft has then added an installed key to it from which you can reinstall the OS. I should of course try to read up on it eh?
Just as a by the by the installed key on my one and only compatible machine does not end with either of those generic keys.

Anyway thanks again I do appreciate your advice and information

It has long been known that Windows 7 keys take a long time to check...

Windows 7 key checking has always been slow...it's just the size of the configuration file that's extremely large - the only way to speed it up would be a more efficient XML search algorithm (rather than node iteration)

...and you are warned about that.

Thanx for pointing to that post - saved me from looking for it LOL

I'm beginning to think is just an old poorly coded MS dll that we have to use... there is definitely a memory leak - like after checking a Win 7 key and leaving the page and subsequently returning to that page, the key will again populate the search box - the way to stop this behaviour is to clear the search box (clicking the x in the right edge) before leaving the screen - this clears the memory that the dll uses.

Will the program be updated for Windows 11? It thinks I'm on 10.

Yup, I was hoping MS would fix the registry but nope.. just too lackadaisical, I guess - so I just released a new version which includes a workaround that checks the build number to determine if we are running Windows 11.

It now has both x86 and x64 installers - The Store app. should check your PC's architecture and and install the correct one.

    Hi Craig @Superfly

Just updated to the 1.1.18.0 (64-bit) version from the Store!

That's what it looks in W10:

I might have missed a few posts, but why is the color so bright in the information section?
And the second thing is that I can't change to the dark theme...

Are the "White blocks" too bright Dimitri ?

I took the RGB from Win 11 settings - should it be more creamy or grey colour?

Going to the Dark side works OK here... it can be a bit flaky sometimes when changing to App Dark mode when SKP is running try closing and re-opening it - if it still can't get Dark mode some serious intervention will be required ...
