Hi, Ive just run ShowkeyPlus on my Desktop PC. Im running Windows 10 Home version1909 and on my PC under Version ShowkeyPlus has 18362.900 (64-bit OS).
However, On my PC under System it shows that I have OS Build 18363.900. Why does Showkeyplus show18362.900?
MS created a "pseudo-build" with version build 18363, that was not catered for in ShowKeyPlus Version 1.0.7060 - which has for all intents and purposes been deprecated.

This anomaly was corrected in Preview versions since then (which includes the released Store version 1.1.14.0)

As far as updating the latest Desktop release, I'm contemplating which way to go technically , whether to stick with .Net Framework or go with the current Preview which has already been ported to .Net Core. If MS releases .Net Core runtime as a recommneded update I will go with that - I'm not keen on expecting users to install a special runtime just to run my apps. - albeit I want to future-proof it.

    @Superfly,

a keen eyed @sportsfan148 has alerted me to differing results between the Store app version 1.1.14.0 and version 1.0.7060 when run on Windows 10 version 1909.

The Store app correctly reports version 18363 while the conventional app says 18362.

Hmmm... yup, I think we will keep two legacy builds...

    Version: 1.0.5730 .. for XP
    Version: 1.0.7060 .. for CLI/WinPE

And go with 1.1.14.0 as Desktop release until .Net Core goes mainstream.

    What do you think?

I'm OK with that, but I think post #1 needs a little clarification. I see you've already made quite a few changes, but it's still not immediately obvious that there's a Store app version available. Not everyone would think to click the 'Get it from Microsoft' logo.

The Official and Preview Releases could make it clearer that they are standalone .exe versions of the Store app code that can be run without an install.

Agreed post #1 is in dire need of a make-over - the idea is one code-base for all (Desktop standalone, Store UWP and Preview) - it is all over the place at the moment.
The Preview should probably just link to GitHub's development page but the Desktop and Store versions separated here as individual downloads.

I downloaded ShowKey 1.1.14.1 and tried running it on my Windows 10 system. All that happens now is the dotted circle "loading" image. No info is shown nor any messages. After 5 minutes still no change..

Please check if this key exists
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Registration\DigitalProductId

What build are you running? Do you other systems that show the same error?

Yes that key does exist in the registry. This one is Version 1909 build 18363.900 and gives me the problem.

I tried it on another system Version 2004 build 19041.329 and it works.

    K, Thanx

I'll try to replicate it later - I may need you to export parts of the registry on that system and send it to me in a password protected zip file.

    I'll keep you posted.

Ok sounds good. For the time being I am using version 1.1.13.38662 on that system (which still works)
