Sorry for the confusion have had a forgettable fortnight with my main machine (7) and am still not sure if I have got it fixed.

Hence my headspin I did try t clone the drive on that machine with10 to a lager one but it just would not have a bar of it so thought my only recourse was t reinstall onto a larger drive and went looking for a key. So I am assuming I just use that one I have if I do that because of the wretched time I have had with the main machine I just would like to know that things would go off smoothly and not end up with two disasters
No worries, mate - hope all goes smoothly

I think 1703 is correct behaviour - I understood digital licences only applied to normal domestic keys. However, always an exception to the rule .
I think it's an heirachcal thing...
    1. pid.txt/ei.cfg
    2. OEM
    3. Input key
    4. digital licence (if all above fails)

You're newest update is already on Major Geeks, Craig: Download ShowKeyPlus - MajorGeeks

Also I got it over the built in updater:

Odd thing(a bug) though, take a look what happens when I click "No":

Just downloaded it, Smart Screen wanted to prevent it from running on the first run. Subsequent runs with no conflicts.

Thanks for the heads up about the new update.

Possible bug: These are business machines from Dell with Preinstalled Win 8.1 Pro - How does the Hardware show Win 7?

    Code:
ShowKeyPlus - Windows Product Key Information - 1.0.6125

    Product Name: Windows 8.1 Pro

    Product ID: 00XXX-X0000-00000-XXXXX

    Installed Key: *****-*****-*****-*****-9D6T9

    Original Key: *****-*****-*****-*****-HYRR2

Original Edition: Windows 7 Ultimate OEM:SLP

OEM Key: Windows 7 OEM marker present in firmware
PS: I think SKP should also save its own Version no: 1.0.6125 - For easier tracking of bugs

Same output using the Latest from above:

    Code:
ShowKeyPlus - Windows Product Key Information

    I don't think that's a bug...

Those seem to be Win 7 machines that were upgraded and sold as Win 8 machines...

Does "Check..." display the installed key as OEM: DM?

I was just taking a look around at Major Geeks today, and was curious how many downloads SKP had so far there, since they started hosting it:

My Lenovo came with 8.1 Pro, which I hated, and 'upgraded' to OpenBSD. Well, installing Windows 10 recently,
    I was stuck with Home.

ShowKeyPlus saved the day! Thank you!
