Seriously tho', there are a lot of limitations/pre-requisites that needs satisfying, particularly with converted apps.... I will concentrate on it (and SMACC) later this year - super busy with 'year-end' work right now.

    You are welcome...
Hey Craig, speaking of SMACC(yeah I know it has it's own thread but...) I just had to do a clean install, and it took me a while to figure out I need to add this registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM
    And add AccentColorInactive to it.

See this tutorial: Change Color of Inactive Title Bar in Windows 10 Customization Tutorials
I was wondering why it wasn't showing up in SMACC at first
Do you think you could add a tab that does that, or a menu item to do it:

Not sure, Cliff - did we spec it to add the key if not present? if not we should fix that - anyway, I need to reaquiant myself with the code and check - perhaps if you'd like, create an issues list (bugfixes and enhancements) in the SMACC thread from which to work from when the time comes?

    Note   Note

Should your key display as BBBBB-BBBBB-BBBBB-BBBBB-BBBBB, it is a placeholder Windows inserts after activating a MAK key.
The reason being, these keys can have thousands of activations (for which companies pay huge amounts) and should someone steal one, they could sell that same key to thousands and each will activate as if part of a company network - it's thus a security feature specific to MAK's.
If you use the app below from app store (search for "Pro" it is top of the list) it converts your retail license to Volume:MAK: with the key ending -9BV79

There is nothing wrong with ShowKey application just the description of MAK in post #1 perhaps. Seems MS are using MAK too for this app.

Swapping using generic keys between Pro and WorkPro shows the generic key correctly (obviously I guess).

As @cereberus says: They don't make it easy do they?

Well the partial MAK key can be retrieved with WMI as well but I don't know what it's value might be - the full key is not available for sure (like Office 2013 & 2016 retail) - perhaps I need to get rid of the B's and add a more appropriate wording instead.

    Still waiting... on Store approval

Supposedly 6 days .. been like 16 now no response......oh! glory days!

Anyway.. got this email from them... @jimbo45 24%?

    | Developer
Tax Changes Effective November 1, 2017
The following tax changes will go into effect on November 1, 2017:

    • Iceland: Icelandic law requires remote sellers of digitally-supplied services to Icelandic consumers to register and collect VAT. The legislation also mandates that certain operators of Marketplace Platforms and Services (like Microsoft Store) undertake to collect and remit VAT for sales of services on their respective platforms.
On November 1, 2017, Iceland will become a Microsoft tax remittance country where Microsoft (or its billing service provider) will collect and remit VAT on behalf of Microsoft Store developers. Effective November 1, 2017, Microsoft will determine the VAT due, withhold such VAT from your App Proceeds, and remit such VAT directly to the Icelandic tax authorities. The current VAT rate in Iceland is 24%.

Since these changes may impact pricing and payments related to apps published in the Microsoft Store, we encourage you to review section 6 of the App Developer Agreement.
