Hello Super mate have tried again this morning and both my 7 laptops are now letting Showkey work. Haven't done anything my end and in the pic is what I am getting for the Asus machine which was originally 8.1 downgraded to 7 Pro and I only have a key that MJB gave me so I don't know what the original key was.
The old Toshiba code is right because Showkey shows exactly what is on the COA sticker but this machine the Asus is one I am keeping in 7 as I am going to get a 10 OEM later so that I can swap out drives when I want because I don't have enough time before I go overseas very shortly and I don't want any problems while away so will leave it in 7 for the time being.

Pic is of the Showkey for the Asus machine and am guessing the top is the 8 key and the bottom the 7 key and is the one I am going to keep.

    Sweet, glad it's working

It's the other way round, the top installed key is Win 7 and the bottom OEM key (from bios) is Win 8.1

The Win 8 edition will show as invalid on Win 7 but can be retrieved on Win 8 up.

    Thanx for reporting back.

Just a question when i run the ShowKey Plus it gave me windows 7 OEM key and windows 10 key , if I install windows 10 from scratch on a formated HDD, will that key work or do i have to install windows 7 first then upgrade .......

After upgrading from Win 7, you get a generic Win 10 key, if that PC has had Win 10 activated via the Win 7 upgrade before, it will activate with digital entitlement without having to enter a key.

Hello Craig mate I think I have got it sort of fixed fixed I ran through some of the details and it said there were some drivers missing notably one for the PCI?? anyway I reinstalled the chipset and PCI stuff and some and Showkey worked!!

I will attach part of the original report ( snips) and the readout before I did the drivers and of the Showkey now.

But after the reboot the Showkey is still not working - just tried it once more

    Well done John :)

Don't worry about ShowKey's invalid key thingy - it's my fault for not providing sufficient backward compatibility.

Seems the problem was driver related, as ShowKey uses resident API's/files as Windows does for activation - thus the lack of backward compatibility - is Windows activated now since upgrading the driver?

Yes mate it has been activated all along what I couldn't understand was why the Showkey wouldn't work properly on this machine

I have tried saving that report a doc but it reckons it is an invalid file.
