Yeah, going to the Store once Win 11 keys become available.

Currently there are only Server 2021 keys that have been added.


I'm guessing MS will follow the same process as with Office 2021( which still has all the Office 16 and Office 19 key editions included with just a few Office 2021 added)



Not yet certain, but I think Store will be 64-bit going forward.

Although Win 11 will no longer have 32bit, the 64 bit version must still be able to run 32 bit programs. I rather doubt MS will ever drop this. It may become a store requirement for new apps to be 64bit I suppose.

I couldn't get installations by architecture at the Store - but of all the crash reports only 12/157 were running x86.

But, it doesn't bother me whether we stay at 32-bit or go 64-bit.

I get a lot of these compliments at the Store but it's got me thinking.. (not that one can please everyone all the time..)

Which uses the Desktop wallpaper for blur rather than the underlying window as before...

I will try to figure out how to get it into a future release.

If MS does not fix the registry to reflect Windows 11, I will need to add a workround to reflect the correct version - waiting for Win 11 GA to see if that gets sorted.

Hello I just ran Showkey and have come up with two different keys one is an Installed Key and another titled OEM key so when I have to reinstall or upgrade to Windows 11 which of these two number/keys will I need to use??
Just I am not that tech savvy and want to be sure of which to use should Windows 11 when it is released requires a key to be entered?

The OEM key is embedded in the bios, it is the key for the OS that was preinstalled by the OEM. It may be for Win8, 8.1 or 10, depending on when the machine was built. If you copy the key and enter it in the 'check edition' section of ShowKeyPlus its edition will be described, eg: Core (aka Home) or Pro.

The installed key is the key your Windows is using. If you have Pro and the key ends -3V66T then that is the generic W10 Pro key. This cannot activate Windows on its own, your Windows will only activate if the PC has a digital licence stored on Microsoft's activation servers. The generic Home key ends in -8HVX7.

If you intend to upgrade to Win11 then you will not be asked for a key. It will use the currently installed key from your existing Windows.

If you intend to clean install Win11 you shouldn't be asked for a key either, setup should read the OEM key from the bios and use that to choose the edition to install, and to activate it.

If you are asked for a key, you can skip entering one. Choose to install the same edition as you had before (Home or Pro), this will install with the generic key. Win11 activates from the same digital licence as Win10, so as soon as it can contact the activation servers it will activate,
