I have passe from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
I rember that on the windows 7 i could drag and drop in the start menu
all the programs i use mostly and in the mean time i could sorted the alphabetically.
I would like to have the same on Windows 10 but i cannot sort it out.

Hello Enzo, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

It looks like you have "Most used" turned off. Double check using the tutorial below to see if you have it turned on to show in Start.

In addition, you can't add anything to "Most used", but you can remove items from it like in the tutorial I posted above.

If you like, you can add and remove items in "All apps" though.

It appears that you may have deleted the contents of the TileDataLayer folder which would mess up the Start menu layout. I'm not going to post the full path of this folder to prevent others from mistakenly messing with it, but if you did this you should know what I'm talking about. If you did this, then you could do a system restore using a restore point dated before you did to undo it.

    I have:
    Get started
    Sway
    Maps
    Calculator
    People

in my MOST USED and I have never used any of them. Another silly thing MS does in its infinite wisdom. Like the 2016 Office applications installing alphabetically to the All Apps Menu instead of under the Microsoft Office Folder there. Yea I want to scroll down to the W to find Word, ever, yea? Not really. Attempting to make the Start bar more appealing by making the menu ridiculous. So MS can add this group of nonsense to my most used - BUT ME, THE USER, CANT DECIDE WHAT I WANT THERE? Awesome.

I suppose at 4:49am everything is more annoying but that doesn't make these choices by MS any less so. Our MS architect changed jobs or I would ask him about this and he would apologize for Microsoft, as he did for every other idiocy filched upon us. Its funny that I refer to the working Operating Systems as Apology releases. Windows XP, 7, 10... But having a hard time feeling like 10 is actually the apology for 8 and 8.1.

    Hello Machistmo, :)

Those are the default items listed under "Most Used". As you start opening apps, they'll eventually be listed under "Most Used" instead.

If you like, you could use the free program "Classic Shell" to have more control over customizing your Start menu until the default one has more features added to it.

Please also send feedback to Microsoft about wanting this feature as well.
