Latest Logitech Setpoint fixes Photo app scrolling

    Version SetPoint6.67.83_64 (64bit)

Now if they could fix smooth scrolling crashing in Chrome, that would be something. :)

Spoke too soon, scroll bug is still there in Photo app.

Probably will never be fixed as with Chrome smooth scrolling.

Not familiar with Chrome, but did you check through it's settings for smooth scrolling, as i recall this was issue at time with Firefox and Setpoint with smooth scrolling, both browser and setpoint have options.

Oh, did not know had new driver since July 2015.Thanks for that info.

Don't know about Chrome, since I use Chromium, but in advanced settings, there is an option to use Hardware Acceleration, and I read a while back that disabling that solved some display problems.

Smooth scrolling has never been very stable, it stops working intermittently and always has done. It's been like that for years. I don't think Logitech are able and or willing to fix it.

Unfortunately it has now migrated over to the Photo app where it will scroll through multiple images at a time unless you go into Setpoint and disable smooth scrolling.

I'm currently browsing other mice not made by Logitech :)

Back when i used it with Windows 8.1, Setpoint's smooth scrolling used to act erratic for me for using anything in Windows ,whether it be software, browser or even a window. Since Windows 10 i have not yet installed Setpoint and my Logitech Trackball and Keyboard work fine without it, only really needed for certain features and customization to the device and if need unifying software for wireless device. So i would not ditch your mouse over this, unless you need these extra customizations

    What are you talking about???

I've used both Chrome and Ligitech's Lighted keyboard for years and never had a problem with smooth scrolling. There is a Chrome extension called Chromium Wheel Smooth Scroller that allows all sorts of adjustments to scroll speed, window bounce, acceleration, etc. I am currently using Chrome Version 46.0.2490.22 beta-m (64-bit) and Setpoint 6.67.82. But I'll get the new version anyway.

We're talking about a completely different Chrome extension, Logitech's Smooth Scrolling. After you install Setpoint you get prompted to go to the Chrome extension page and install it.

You are using something completely different.

But do us a favour and scroll through photos in Photo app and post back here. Another bug with smooth scrolling is that it won't scroll through 1 pic at a time, it keeps flying through multiple photos until you disable smooth scrolling in setpoint.

OK, i see that we ARE talking about different things. I use Windows Photo Viewer to quickly flip through the many photos that I have. With this program scrolling results in zooming, arrow keys move forward or back amongst different photo files. I find it very intuitive and effective.

I don't know what "Photo app" refers to, unless you mean "Photos" that is apparently one of those weird "modern" applications that I had to search for to find. I couldn't figure out how to load a single phot into it so I obviously could not see how scrolling works.

    Sorry for the confusion.

    Thanks for posting back. :)

The default app for photos is "Photos" (funnily enough). It's made for a touch interface and is forced upon us poor desktop dinosaurs.
In any case, Logitech's smooth scrolling doesn't work with it.

I tried the extension you mentioned but found the scrolling, while smooth, a bit flaky. And it doesn't cure the Photos app bug either, so yeah... perhaps it's just inherent of Logitech mice/software.
