I think Avast must be monitoring this thread. An hour ago, my CC was updated to Ver 6.11.10...

(Latest ver is 6.23.11... , so that must be for Win 11)

Avast are referred to as "predatory" on Redddit. Here's one thread:

I clicked on a desktop icon for:

    CCleaner_v5.78.8558.exe
If you are clicking on that instead of the program's shortcut it will reinstall Ccleaner.

I only use the Portable version of CCleaner [originally called CrapCleaner], doesn't automatically update and I never leave anything on the clients' machines.

    Try firewall rules:
CCleaner very slow startup time on my Windows 10 Pro x64 DELL laptop.

    Run Powershell as admin:

Open Elevated Windows PowerShell in Windows 10

    Then copy and paste:

    Code:
New-NetFirewallRule -Program 'c:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe' -Action Block -Profile Private, Public, Domain -DisplayName 'Block CCleaner' -Description 'Block CCleaner' -Direction Outbound

New-NetFirewallRule -Program 'c:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner64.exe' -Action Block -Profile Private, Public, Domain -DisplayName 'Block CCleaner64' -Description 'Block CCleaner64' -Direction Outbound

New-NetFirewallRule -Program 'c:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCUpdate.exe' -Action Block -Profile Private, Public, Domain -DisplayName 'Block CCUpdate' -Description 'Block CCleaner64' -Direction Outbound
