The only way to remove that is to use an old version of Ccleaner and apply the registry hacks.

    Code:
    https://download.ccleaner.com/slim/ccsetup578_slim.exe
Then you'd need to add the newer cleaning rules that will be missing via winapp2.ini or edit it and write your own.
Thanks, do you know what the registry removal hack is though? I know it's possible, but mods at ccleaner forum won't say how. That's actually a great idea though. I hadn't even thought about using an old version and just updating with winapp.

I thought the older version recommended is 5.32.6129 or 5.40.0.6411

Yes, that's Slim Build 578 but if you have need the PRO version it's not the one to download.

Then you'd have to disable update checks.

    I use Winapp200l to update winapp2.ini

If you want PRO then you'd have to activate it and I've never actually tried the PRO version.

5.32.6129 Portable wouldn't work on my Windows 10, but 5.40.0.6411 actually did. Have my saved winapp2.ini so put it in the folder. My god, was this what CCleaner once was?!?

    I'll try 578 portable in a bit.

    If you want portable:

    Code:

Actually I stand corrected. I just ran 590 on another machine with hacks applied and I see:

There is a warning that it is more than 30 versions out of date so must be updated. I just ignored that.

    RE: Registry Clean button

The best I can come up with is just exclude everything so that it cannot be cleaned even accidentally. I've never run the registry clean component on the machine that I'm using right now and with exclusions applied there's nothing found.

Thanks, sadly the mod at ccleaner forum said that removing the 'Reigstry' button can be done through regedit, but won't tell how it can be done, lol.
