Accessing Serial and USB Ports in WSL 2 on Windows 11 24H2

The announcement for WSL 2.2.4 says one of the features is that it can now access all system resources. Does this include serial and USB ports? If so, how? The serial ports can't be used and the USB ports don't automatically show up in /dev. I know I can use usbipd in Windows to attach USB ports to a currently running WSL session and it works well but if there's a more direct way and a way to use the serial ports, I'd like to use that instead.

The image at PRIME B560-PLUS|Motherboards|ASUS Global does not show either a 9-pin nor a 25-pin Serial port nor a 25-pin LPT/PRN port but does show a 15-pin VGA Video port.

The serial port is a header on the motherboard and requires a mounting plate in a slot. Another serial port and parallel port are on a PCI card and are fully integrated into Windows. I also have an eight-port USB to RS-232 box. All of those serial ports are useable in Windows as well. If WSL can use all of Windows resources, I'd expect it to use all my ports. I can use the eight USB RS-232 ports if I run usbipd in Windows to attach the USB ports to WSL but I was hoping that WSL could now use the ports with no added software needed. WSL 1 can do that.

Much better details but only thing I can think of is whether testing a full Linux-only install or a bootable Linux LiveUSB will have drivers for all the resources available.
