@GerryPeters, one day all drives will fail.

Make periodic backups. That is the best action you can do to protect your data.

This is exactly what I need Dalchina. Bree helped me resurrect a 1T HD and mentioned I should check it with Crystal Disk Info. So that’s why I want this alert. I back up my data for 3 computers every night and make Macrium images whenever I make a change on my computer.

I couldn't find Moo0 Window Menu Plus (free) on their website. Is Moo0 AlwaysOnTop v1.24 Installer.exe a newer version? Iconize to tray is not in the right click menu of Crystal disk info. And it says "always on top" at the top of that menu not "keep on top" like your screenshot shows. Please advise

    Thanks for your reply.

Seems that version has been withdrawn- no doubt somewhere there's a download.. anyway, I've retrieved this from my other laptop for you, uploaded it to Dropbox as I can't attach it here.

I got WindowMenuPlus set up and starting with the system. CrystalDiskInfo is set for Startup also. I see them both in the Tray.

So how will this work on reboot? Will both programs start and will CrystalDiskInfo be in the tray automatically? And if I get a "Caution" on a HD will it then maximize to a full window

And thank you very much for all of this.

As to whether programs start- look for the options as usual.

Look at my screenshots- then if you read my post you will see how to minimise a program to the tray. You already have that info.

And if I get a "Caution" on a HD will it then maximize to a full window
As you may know, a program should open with the same size and placement of window as when it last opened.
    Beyond that I can't say.

    Thank you again.

I followed all your screen shots and it all set up that way. You mentioned in your first post that you had this installed. Do you mean you have CrystalDiskInfo and Window menu plus installed? And you use it to get an alert if a HD is getting close to failing?

    Yes/ Yes
And you use it to get an alert if a HD is getting close to failing?
    No.

Note: there is one aspect this does not cover- to automatically minimise a program to the tray on startup.

To do that you'd need a different program - e.g. Actual Window Minimiser (not free).

There's no easy way to do this in Windows.

    See:
Minimize softwares to system tray when starting?
    and
Minimize to Tray Tool - Minimize any application to the tray

    from my post there.

If I understood well, you leave the backup HDD always connected to the computer.
    That isn't a good practice.
If you have a malware attract it will infect the computer and the backup
