Okay so maybe that's the wrong place to look. I don't have Word or two versions of it to test.

Perhaps change that single entry and see if it changes either one or both entries in the context menu.

If it doesn't then someone with Word 2003 might need to tell you where to look.

I have 2 programs in the "Open with" dialog box (Word 2003 & Word 2016), it will name both of them the same. However, I can tell the difference because the icons are different:

    Phil,

I think that's the best you are going to get.

I have a similar example of two versions of an application in my Open with and they also appear with the same label but different icons.
I wasted ages failing to change the labels.
You could ask @Brink if he knows any better - Reset and Clear Open with Context Menu for File Types in Windows

Using the last field in the dialogue of Openwithadd as per my post #6..

For example, I had an Open With option to open doc files with Atlantis Word Processor.

I used OpenWithAdd but specified 'My Word Processor' in the bottom field.

Rt click Open With then showed 'My Word Processor' for doc files.

It seems that if you specify the SAME target but enter a name for the entry it replaces it.

You have two different targets but the same name.

I don't see why the above wouldn't work for you.

I recommend you create a System Restore point before trying that.

Thanks, Denis. Since you have something similar, & the difference in icons allows you to differentiate them, that's what I have. Probably not worth any more time.

As usual, I appreciate your input. However, even though I put in separate paths & names, it always defaults to the last name I enter. Since I can see the difference in the icons, that will serve my purpose.

    All the best, Phil
