Faster Directory Compare utility?

I use Beyond Compare to compare and update/manage folders between my desktop and my laptop, as well as between different drives or folders on just one system. My beef with this utility is that it is so darn slow in doring directory scans, compared with a utility like Goodsync.

So my ask is, is there a functional equivalent that is faster at directory scanning?

Also for copying files from one location to another when they don't already exist in the destination I use:

TSR Copy Changed Files Software - Free software for logging changed and modified files.

There's also some third-party free or paid-for file managers that have two panels, show 2 drives or folders that are different from each other such as Total Commander, FreeCommander, MultiCommander, etc. There's also one that can show 4 panels, Q-Dir.
