Third party registry cleaners, third party driver updaters.

Features I believe I don't need that happen to be included in Glary Utilities and CCleaner (which I use for other things).
Is there any point to using these features?

    Thank you.

No, no need to use these features at all, in my opinion.

Many people say that Registry cleaners help them avoid problems and keep their computers trouble-free.
    - But many people say that they can cause irreparable faults in your Registry.
    - MS withdrew their own Registry cleaner over a decade ago and said Registry cleaners should not be used at all.
    - Somebody experimented a decade ago and found that the built-in Disk cleaning utility achieved as much of a performance improvement as any Registry cleaner.

Many people say that third party driver updaters can get things wrong and install the wrong drivers.
    - You have your computer maker and the makers of your other hardware to supply you with drivers.
    - You also have Windows update to supply you with drivers.

    All the best,

    Welcome to ElevenForum.

It's really worth making time to browse through the ElevenForum Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every ElevenForum page [within the Tutorials dropdown list].
    - At the foot of the ElevenForum Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - ElevenForum tutorials are also listed at Tutorials and there's a shortcut to that at the top of every page.

You can search ElevenForum using the search box in the top-right corner of all ElevenForum webpages or using Advanced Search - ElevenForum
    - You can also search ElevenForum threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:elevenforum.com after your search term. For example,
    Taskbar setup site:elevenforum.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of ElevenForum webpages does automatically]

For MSOffice problems search in and, if necessary, create threads in the TenForums MSOffice section [ElevenForum does not have one].

And, just for completeness, Fred Langa was that somebody and here is my brief assessment of his experiment.

No, I remove the extra crap.

Also note: Why are people still doing this to their PC? (Using Ccleaner)

I still use it but kind of modify it after installing so some stuff gets removed/ disabled. There are alternatives and I do use one or two of those if I need a deeper clean but I've always liked Ccleaner's set and forget then one click clean option. Plus you can make use of a trimmed winapp2.ini file if you like.

I don't use the registry cleaner component.

Windows 11 had once an issue which prevented it from updating, because of an empty reg entry.
MS issued a reg cleaner fix, people with a reg cleaner had no issue. So it is hardly an outdated concept.

What I find funny is, that people, who glorify uninstallers, do not realize, that they are reg cleaners.

Its a double edge sword imo, "registry cleaners" or "cleaning / performance suites" that cater to many areas of cleaning, tuning and performance tweaking have their place the bad part is that they are sold as a catch all tool to a demographic of consumers that don't really know what they are doing in terms of functionality, in turn the safeguards and critical thinking required to stay above water is the reason why people get burned form these apps.

Reg cleaner as a meme, the frog does not know the reg cleaner is killing it slowly because its unaware of the fire underneath it

What i mean is that they appeal to users that don't know how to do these things natively on their own accord, the potential ramifications and the basis needed to perform these actions in an informed manner.

These sorts of application are essentially what are called wrappers. The software utilizes existing functionality in the OS that is less accessible to the average user but is possible to someone who knows but they are convenient because the application tie it all together in a fancy GUI that looks nice.

To someone who knows how to achieve the same sort of functions without these programs they are fine to use i use several but its at discretion i don't blindly click away i read through what they are telling me and in some cases i proceed to run through the motions manually and only using them in read only type fashion.

I would not run these on autopilot and i would not blindly click away just read what they tell you and filter out things, you can use critical thinking to know what is safe to remove and what isn't like those 30 reg entries for an apps you no longer have installed is safe to remove etc.

Revo is good for this an popular amongst users but at times you want a gui that is going to tell you various things from one place without having to dig around manually.

So -- reg cleaners for specialized purposes but not routine maintenance.
