    One Drive problems

    Windows 10 build 17763

    New problems with One drive.

When a thread link is clicked it goes back and forth:

    onedrive.live.com > login.live.com > onedrive.live.com > login.live.com > onedrive.live.com > login.live.com

    Then in Chrome it displayed:

    Microsoft
    sign in

Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later.

The Microsoft login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.

The download link was copied and pasted into Edge and opened without problems.

Today the copy and paste to Edge produced the same result as Chrome.

The link was copied and pasted into Firefox and opened to Microsoft sign in options.

How do you modify one drive so that it is not prompted when opening download links?

    This link:

    Bsod

    https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%...aredby&o=OneUp

was just able to be viewed using Firefox without sign in.

When Chome was used it went back and forth with:

    onedrive.live.com > login.live.com > onedrive.live.com > login.live.com > onedrive.live.com > login.live.com

When Edge was used it was able to be viewed without sign in.

How do you modify one drive so that download links do not prompt sign in?

    @zbook

That link works for me in EDGE and Firefox. I don't have Chrome.

Also... my EDGE has been blocked in my firewall since forever. It hasn't been updated either.
I just temporarily unblocked it to test.

It initially could have been just a Chrome problem but then occurred in Edge. Firefox had a sign in prompt. The latest link was just Chrome.

It appears to be a one drive problem.

On occasion I'd stored some files there in the cloud.

How do the attempted log ins get modified so that any or all browsers download and open links without attempted sign in?

    I don't have OneDrive installed.
And I don't know the answer to the question.

I just checked to see if my EDGE would open that link.
    I don't know the... whys.

And I just realized that I'm on Win 11 at the moment. Must be past my bedtime.

This somehow appears to be triggered from a download: https://onedrive.live.com/login/
even though there is no interest in storing downloads into one drive.

I also have Win 10 on a different SSD.
I'd have to swap the cables.
