    Norton Antivirus Backup Codes

I have Norton and activated two factor authentication some time ago.
Now, I no longer have the authentication app and can't remember what it was.
I need to use my backup codes, but these are somewhere on one of three laptops and searches are proving fruitless.
Can someone tell me what file extension they might be under? Did Norton email them or are they in the software somewhere?
Norton will not assist in any way to help find them, the approach is, bad luck, get a new email and create a new account.
My auto renewal is due and I need to get in to update my expired credit card details.
    Thanks.

I can’t say for Norton but usually the codes are shown when setting up 2fa which just need to be copied & pasted into a text file or saved in say OneNote’s secure notebook so there’s no file extension specific to them.
Have you asked on their forum? They may not be able to help but they should be able to tell you the file extension (if any).

As for the app is it not shown under your account on the phone’s App Store? If not then there’s two I’d suggest it could be - Google authenticator or Microsoft authenticator. You could download them & see if it offers a recovery option, if yes then you can recover the entries. If not then either the app wasn’t set to backup or neither app is the one you were using.
