How to force windows photo view to not open new folders

How do I view the source of an open picture on windows photo viewer and not have the program open a new folder every single time? Theres no reason for the program to create new folder window every single time I ask to view an image source when that folder is literally already open.

Windows explorer is already so slow and terrible that it literally slows down my entire computer just doing basic searching. Having it make itself worse by forcing new folders to open every time I ask to view a pictures source is pretty brainless. Please tell me there is a way to force photo viewer to only use one folder.

Rt click the image displayed, Properties, General

Do you have indexing properly configured? Is indexing complete?
I can do a content search with f. explorer open at This PC and get the result in well under 1s.

Do you see a green progress bar while searching is under way?
If so, that indicates a significant number of files or folders in the search path are not indexed.

That's assuming there's no issue with resource usage, your file system or disk of course.
