How do I get a legacy program to run at 800 x 600 resolution?

Would like the legacy program(program is a good 25 years old and development ceased in 2017) to run at 800 x 600 when I'm using it and go back to my default resolution 1920 x 1080 (125% scaling) when I exit it. My winver is 23H2(22631.3155). Thanks in advance any help you may be able to provide!

For all of my old programs, that date back to the DOS days, I use "DOSBox". But my programs may be a little older than yours. Some of them are programs written in "C", and compiled using Borland C++ on a Windows 3.1 laptop.

Most old programs (games?), have a "patch" that will give the program... modern abilities.
But in order to help, we need to know what the program... is.

I have about 6 or so games from 1995-2003 that I can run with no problems on Win 10 or Win 11, with "patches" for modern hardware.

A program that came out 25 years ago was more than likely a Windows program. Note 1999 was 25 years ago so that was when Windows 98 was used.

BTW, I run ABBYY FineReader 5.0 Pro on both my Windows 10 and 11 computers. I probably bought it back in 1999 when I was using Windows 98. It probably only works because there was a service pack for Windows 98 and a registry fix for Windows XP.

No patches unfortunately. The developer sold the program is 2017 and the new owners killed it / went kaput.

How large is the monitor? I have an office-type program from 1997 called Claris Works, works fine on Win11 as a Portable App [no install, just run the .exe file from it folder] on a 24" monitor at 1920x1080 maximized. For POS/Point of Sale programs, they usually work best on small screens, probably less than 14", maybe even tablet size when the work space/counter size is considered. I also have a copy of DeltaCAD 3 from 1997 and DeltaCAD 4 from 1999 working as a Portable App.

Here's some things a quick Google found...

    Top CleanSuite Alternatives, Competitors

That's gonna be tough, because it's very specific software.

If it was me, and if you haven't already done so... I would call the tech support phone numbers at the bottom of the GoGoZen website.
Have the specs for the device (computer) you intend to run Cleansuite on... ready, when you call.

Since this isn't a game, or "common" Windows software, I doubt anyone has gone to the trouble of patching it.

They were unable to help. Plus, they have authorization only to help customers in North America. They don't have a patch and are actively asking customers to change to an alternative. I would not like to buy new software for two reasons mainly, 1. The program works beautifully and it does the job. 2. All alternatives are now monthly subscription based and are cloud based.

Well, there's not much I can do.
The resolution a program runs at, has to be set within the program.

You haven't mentioned what display adapter you are using.
There may be something from Nvidia or AMD that allows you to set resolution by program, but I doubt it.

The Nvidia control panel doesn't have a setting for... by program resolution.
But that doesn't mean they don't have an App that does that.

I don't see anything in the Windows display settings either.
