You can get 24k stations via a browser addon.

    Radio Player

CherryPlayer Portable (no install) might be worth a look.

CherryPlayer : Plays Videos, Music and Online Radio

Having said that - Online Radio Box doesn't populate for me, The other lists work fine.
Callender! Many thanks. This is a fantastic player! I know because I just installed it and it populated and started playing music right away. All the fuctions seem to work but I haven't tried out everything yet. Sometimes when I'm on the patio or cooking it's just nice to hear your favorite "blend" of music with a nice blue-tooth speaker. I think I just found another treasure. Thanks again.

I too have always looked for the best radio station player. Here is what i have settled on: I use RadioSure, but I don't use the latest station rsd file. I use these two websites to find the streams I want:

radio-browser.info and FMSTREAM - The Radio Stream Directory.

Then I manually enter them into RadioSure. The reason I don't use the database file is because it conflicts with stations that I manually enter if the station is already in the database.

Here is another great program that I also use all the time:

AIMP для Windows << Центр загрузок << AIMP

It has a lot of great skins and is updated quite frequently. There is a new one out today. I use AIMP to play all my favorite Oldtime Radio streams and I use RadioSure for all my sports and news streams.

BTW, I do also use the old version of Screamer Radio (4.4) not the new one which I don't like at all. I use that for music. However, the old Screamer does not play https links only http.

Just be aware that it hasn't been updated since 2021 so at some point in the future functionality might break if sources that it uses change their URL's.

I know that many players have limited support and/or they haven't been updated in a few years. But if it works today that is good enough for me.

    Interesting

I used AIMP the last two Christmas's to play MP3 Christmas song I had but I didn't know that you could listen to internet music stations with it. I found the program to be powerful but it does have a bit of a learning curve, for me anyway.

I might give this one another try. Many thanks for your helpful suggestions.

+1 for AIMP which I've used for over a decade when I had Windows XP and still use it today to play my audio streams. The same streaming playlist on Windows plays just fine on the Android version of AIMP on my phone and tablet.

The Windows version of AIMP can also record any currently playing audio stream. Can't say enough good things and definitely may favorite. It's also portable so can be run from USB flash drive.

Cherry player looks interesting and I may have to give it a look as most of the audio streams I listen to are from Shoutcast.

JeffRedd, thank you for the feedback on TuneScape. For now, I fixed the error that you focused on and tested it on Windows 10. I think I released a new app today, maybe tomorrow.

The signal for the local radio station I listen to is many times too weak to receive reliably. I usually use the TuneIn app on my laptop to listen to it. I suspect that most radio stations stream their broadcasts on the Internet.

When I had a Samsung S7 I used the NextRadio app to listen to local radio stations. The FM radio chip used the wired headphone as its antenna. That wasn't possible when phones removed the connector for these headphones. Most phones now probably disable the FM chip even if it has one. That made it inevitable that NextRadio went out of business in 2018.

Now when I am not at home and want to listen to the radio I use the Android version of TuneIn on my phone.

Some automakers have eliminated AM radio tuners in their cars. The trend is for more and more of them to do so in the future. Since FM radio has a shorter range then AM one I wonder what that means for listening to radio in the future.

I wonder if in the future there will be the technology in the future that allows cars to be connected to the Internet all the time no matter where they are? If that comes about then maybe all audio broadcasts will be only on the Internet with AM & FM broadcasting a thing of the past.

The new TuneScape release is available for now. All bugs for Windows 10 are fixed, I think. You can check it out at TuneScape download | SourceForge.net. Of course, if you can give me feedback, I will appreciate it.
