    @VinceB

Just try a few of the free video editors (search for reviews and tutorials beforehand) and see if you can find one that you're comfortable with.

I am running Win10; if I install the version that you mentioned, would it run on WIN10? What must I do to install the version that includes the WIN10 Video Editor program? Where do I go to get it?

Here is what I am confronted with:
    1. Win10's Video Editor is no longer available to me; it is not included with my installed version of Windows10 x64 Home, which has auto updates already installed.
    2. The Photos app that is embedded within my OS does not allow me to use Clip Champ as a desktop PC-installed app; it appears that only an online version of Clip Champ is available.

I have viewed several YouTube tutorials on Clip Champ, and believe that it would be useful to me. I am convinced that Clip Champ (or a WIN10 Video Editor) program would be a worthwhile improvement compared with the Windows Movie Maker that I, as a newbie/novice to video editing, am presently using.

    • If there is a way that I may install Clip Champ (first choice) onto my PC, rather than an online version, I would greatly appreciate being instructed how that task can be done.
    • If there is a way that I may install the WIN10 Video Editor (second choice) onto my PC I would also greatly appreciate being instructed how that task can be done.

I am more than willing to make the effort, but need newbie, detailed, step-by-step instructions.

Let me also say that I am grateful for the assistance and information already provided.

It works on Windows 10 but it's not great. i just thought that it was what you were looking for. To get it you'd need to remove the photos app completely and enable sideloading and then install the Windows 11 version from the website in my screenshot. In my opinion it's too much hassle for no real gain as it's very basic video editing.

Just use something else. There have been a few suggestions already.

You could read the last few posts in this thread including Post #29. I've never used that one though.

Thoughts on mp4 Video Editors Please

On another note I'll send you a link to a no longer available free video editor to try. It's decent enough. I can't post the link publicly.

    My TNX for your info.

    • My old DELL desktop cannot handle Win11.
    • I had to Google for "what does sideloading mean": sideloading is reported as being a risk, which I am not willing to take.
    • Removal of the original Photos app is another thing that I am not willing to do at this time, unless I am clearly able to re-install it. I have read that the name has changed by MS, to confuse people like myself.

I'll look for your suggested link.

TNX very much for your time, patience, and information.

As I mentioned in a previous post, my first choice is Clip Champ. I may have missed the link to download Clip Champ onto my PC; one of the YouTube tutorials made mention of how to d/l to PC. If that download to PC link is still available, I will try it, or perhaps settle for the OnLine version of Clip Champ. If that fails, then the Win10 Video Editor is next for me to further investigate.

I am disappointed to find that some of the suggested website pages are no longer accessible today.

RE: Clip Champ. As far as I can work out it should be offered if you launch the built in photos app but I cannot confirm that.

Forget that. It was offered to me because I sideloaded Windows 11 photos app on Windows 10.

You should be able to download Clip Champ from Microsoft Store.

It's also not entirely free. You need to pay monthly to access HD video export options. As far as I know all other features can be used for free.

    Note: I've never used it.
