    OneDrive Questions Please

    Hello,

Sr. Citizen now, very, so please put up with a very basic question.

Apparently I have had OneDrive "active" for quite a while.

I want nothing to do with it.

Can someone please walk me thru, very specifically, all the steps to totally
disable it functioning on my PC. ?

I would, if possible, like to keep any of its Folders with items it created so
that I don't want to possibly lose something important.

Just want to prevent it doing anything new.

    Much thanks,
    Appreciate the help,
    Bob

Hi, I can quite understand why you want nothing to do with this octopus-like entity.

There are numeroous tutorials on Onedrive in.. yes.. the searchable Tutorials section. (Link above).

First, whatever happens, all files synched to date remain in your online Onedrive account and can be retrieved as necessary.

Second, take due precautions. You are, hopefully, already using 3rd party disk imaging - a kind of copy of your partitions periodically saved to external storage which allows you to recover your O/S and any imaged partition to 'as was' even if your internal disk(s) fail(s). E.g. Macrium Reflect/Aomei Backupper (free version is ok).

Third, proceed carefully step by step and check after each that your files are where you expect them to be.

    a. Disable OneDrive synching.

    b. Disable OneDrive integration.

    - note the step in the tutorial referring to this (in blue text before 'Contents' - blue text in tutorials is clickable)

    c. Uninstall Onedrive

Please read through these cardully first, especially preamble notes.
