Cyberlink has stopped support of 4K UHD Blu-ray discs/ISOs/folders

Cyberlink's venerable PowerDVD program will no longer support the playback of any 4K UHD Blu-ray disc/ISO file/folder.

Cyberlink removed the ability to play any of the aforementioned formats with a update to PowerDVD 22 Ultra last month.

From now on, anyone needing to play 4K UHD Blu-rays on their laptop or PC will have to find some other software, as all future versions of PowerDVD simply won't play any 4K Blu-ray disc/ISO/folder.

The details are explained here and here.

If you still have PowerDVD 22 Ultra, and haven't updated to the patch from January 2024 on, you can still lock down your copy so that you can still play 4K UHD Blu-ray discs/ISOs/folders. How to do that is shown below.

    the article explains.

In the past few years the usage rate of PowerDVD UHD BD media playback features and the required technical support from hardware companies have gradually declined or directly ceased (e.g., since 2020, newly-released PC platforms that use new CPUs and motherboards do not support the hardware requirements for UHD BD playback).

No prob, i'll rip the move to a USB3 and plug it into my TV or BD player.
