    Productivity advice

I need a software or methods, for organizing files automatically.
I have windows on its own drive. And would like anything I download or place on the desktop etc, to move to another drive with organized folders. Would be good that anything appearing there, is sorted by extension type to sub folders automatically.

What are some organization ideas you use generally?

I use the Details view in File Explorer [older Windows Explorer] and click the drive letter desired then I can reorganize by toggling each of the column heading in the right pane, Ascending or Descending, just like in a spreadsheet. For example, if I want to see the newest I toggle Date, if I want by extension I have to ensure the setting for showing the extension has been Unchecked to unhide. The setting works on any drive seen in File Explorer, even on my NAS drive [I don't Map drives on other computers]. Also, right-clicking the one of the name in the headings bar can allow more types of columns or remove some.

With FDM, you can easily organize downloaded files by their type, placing them in predefined folders.

Move Location of Documents Folder in Windows 10
Create Soft and Hard Symbolic Links in Windows

I have moved documents to another drive and used symlinks for temp and browser's caches.
