Thanks but unfortunately it suffers from the same problem as Snipaste - when booting from the Windows installation USB, its screen captures omit the command prompt.

In this example, the command prompt was covering the left-hand half of the display when the capture was made.

Like Snipaste, Imagine sees straight through it.

Like Snipaste, the unwanted behaviour only happens when booted from the installation disk.

I had never heard of snipaste. If it has the option active window, it might work.

Thanks for telling me about Imagine.
Thanks for suggesting that I use the active window mode for the command prompt window.
    It works a treat.

I'll forget about Snipaste and use Imagine instead.
    - Snipaste was rather awkward to use anyway.
    - Imagine is very straightforward.

That completes the set of utilities that I wanted to add to my installation disk.
    - Screenshots
    - Explorer
    - PDF

    I is appy.

    @Try3

Have you tried just manager ? I used it when doing simpe builds. It is a nice little thing. You might prefer it to explorer++

Thanks. I'll add it to the set and try it out.

    Add later:

Thanks for that. I just tried it on my most awkward computer and it was easier to work within two panes of a single utility than to run two instances of Explorer++.

I happened to put JustManager on a Windows11 installation USB because it was close to hand.
When I was working within its command prompt to run JustManager & Explorer++, I had to arrange the windows manually.
This is not a great burden but I used to be able to arrange them using WinKey & the arrow keys just as if I was working within Windows itself.
I'll have a play around sometime to find out if that is just a new general state of affairs, a Windows 11 InstallUSB characteristic or a peculiarity of that computer.

    All the best,
    Denis
