MS Publisher continuing problems - definitive answer?

    Hi everyone
my wife's computer has office pro + 2019 installed. This really is a pain in the you know where! Microsoft Publisher is not respondingis the usual message whenever she tries to load/open a publisher document. All other office programs work with no issue.

There are three other PC's in the house with the same program installed, and never has a problem been experianced on those machines.
I am aware that publisher has for so long been a pain - so many reports noted.
The question is - is there a definative 'cure' available?
2nd question is there a alternative to publisher she can try.
    Your help appreciated.

Some people i know who used publisher pre win 10 have switched to scribus. It's free and does more then publisher can.

x2, check if the file is or not corrupted, try to open it on the other computers. You might also want to try running Publisher as an administrator and then open the document, also check your hdd.

I didn't like it at first, but after being forced to use Canva (it's an online tool), I can say it works pretty decently, give it a shot; all you need is a webbrowser, and it's free, you don't need to pay fees.
