Need Original Win 10 "PHOTOS" App

The MS store changed the "PHOTOS" App. From a editor into a viewer only. The current version and the legacy version are useless.
So I am wondering is MS has an archive of old apps ?
I need the older editor version.
Or how to extract an app from a windows 10 original installation file.
"PHOTOS" app was deleted from my system. System restore is not possible.

What do you need it for? If you want to do some editing or image management, sadly deficient Windows apps (past or present) are not the solution.

You couldn't do much better than have a look at Irfanview (freeware)

Photos is the replacement for Windows Photo Viewer which actually can be reactivated, even in Win11. There's a Tutorial about it and these pages:

Might also give some thought to Paint in Windows Accessories.

No - not the UWP apps from the Store.

Want to escape from the frustration of MS changing apps? Simple- don't rely on MS apps- go 3rd party as Idgat suggests. Plenty of options. (That said, some MS apps are useful... but changes can be frustrating. E.g. changes made to the Weather app when it becam over-complicated and less friendly. Then there's the history of removal of MS email clients provided with Windows...).

I realize you are trying to be helpful but nobody so far has addressed the problem. The request is for the original windows PHOTOS" App not for 3rd party apps.. I have 3rd party solutions already but they are not meeting my needs.
I need a copy of the original windows PHOTOS" App, not wishful thinking.

The misguiding thing here is the 'word' 'app'. Plus you said:
The MS store changed the "PHOTOS" App.
    - so there you are saying there's a change in the Store app.

'apps' are connected (in my mind at least) with 'Store apps'.

So when you say an 'app' that's something from the Store - rather than a program as in one made up of exe and dll files.

Plus you said 'Photos' - the MS app is 'Photos' (with an 's').

The Photo Viewer has no s.

So, not wishful thinking, merely staying close to your chosen terminology, rather than trying to guess what you really really meant.

Hint: the huge Tutorials section is searchable

I recommend you have a look.. very very useful- a huge amount of work by Brink and a few others.

    Windows Photo Gallery

There was a Photo Gallery viewer/editor that was a part of Windows Live Essentials discontinued in 2012. You can no longer find it on Microsoft but it use to be available on c-net and I think it still is. The file that I have saved and still can us is called wlsetup-all.exe and it is Windows Live Essentials 2012. It consist of other programs such as movie maker and photo gallery, You can install individual programs instead of the whole thing.

If you mean the photos app that is usually installed as default after a fresh install of windows 10 then you might as well sideload the newer version if you removed the old one.

I installed this on windows 10 a while back just to test and it worked fine. I just tested it then removed it so it's not currently installed. It has to be sideloaded. Instructions in link.

Windows 11 Photos app now supports Windows 10

So get the newer W11 app (works in W10) or grab the old one.
