    Toshiba Media Creator

    Hi,
When I was using W7 on my Toshiba satellite I had an app called Toshiba Media Creator. With it I was able to create cd/dvds.
After upgrading to W10 I no longer have this app. Does anyone know if it is still available and if it is will it work with W10?
    Thank You

Suggest you simply use a compatible program. There are good free ones- or used to be.

Otherwise you could try to find it and use compatibility mode as necessary in the hope of having it work.

    I found references to this:
    Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator

which is presumably different and completely irrelevant now.

That would have been the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator.
It's only use is to create recovery media for the original Windows install shortly after buying your Laptop.

    No use at all now.

If you want to create a Recovery drive for your current Windows 10

Control Panel > Recovery > Create a recovery drive, tick box for "Back up system files to the recovery drive."
    go thru the dialogues.

I was just given a Toshiba Satellite L305-S5921 running Vista. All it has provided by Toshiba for multi-media is the Toshiba DVD Player. With Win7 essentially being dead I'll be looking for a lower-resources version of Linux, only have 3GB RAM. It came with 2GB DDR2 modules [2x1GB] but I found a 2GB in my parts cabinet that gives me 3GB total. It will run Linux Faren and Linux Voyager from a bootable USB Thumb drive albeit slower than installed.

No, it was specifically designed for the Toshiba OEM installed Windows 7. It worked by copying image and boot files from the HDDRecovery folder on the Toshiba 'factory reset' partition (often visible as the D: drive). Here's that folder from an old Toshiba Satellite of mine. The swm files are the factory reset image of the OEM Windows 7...

Thanks everyone, since it related to W7 I have decided to forget this program and if needed find an alternative.

    Thank You
