Cant remove onedrive personal from taskbar

I just recently noticed this. Used to be this annoying grey icon would disappear after the initial setup process. I do not use onedrive personal, and do not want to see this icon. How can I remove this for good?

Provided you do not have anything synched you can simply remove Onedrive altogether.

Using a 3rd party uninstaller such as Revo, Geek Uninstaller is recommended.

If Onedrive is active, best to disable sync and integration before removal. Tutorials available.

I tried all of that as well as deleting my stored credentials but. It seems this is some sort of intended feature. I ended up solving it by downloading drop box and uninstalling that onedrive rubbish!

Based on my most recent W10 installs/reinstalls, the best thing to do is to turn off all back up options, then completely stop AND remove the Onedrive app, including all of it's registry entries and file associations, the minute the installation is completed and immediately reboot your machine, BEFORE it has a chance to get it's hands on or link anything to any of your files or documents...

I used I/O bit's Uninstaller Pro, but several other apps will do it too :)

I did that friend. Many times. First I used the control panel method, then I used the official method by running onedrive.exe /reset. Then I used revo uninstaller PRO and removed all trace files and registry traces. Then I removed all credentials relating to any sort of online account in the credentials manager as my PC does not use a microsoft account linked to my PC.

Immediately after installing and opening onedrive, it has both the personal and business accounts pre loaded in a drop down menu, like it somehow still remembers my accounts after a complete wipe.

Honestly I am done with this garbage. Just gonna pay $10 a month for less hassle. Microsoft doesn't do anything right.

So by some miracle I was able to remove the duplicate onedrive icon. Now I got a new problem on my hands. That stupid status column that keeps coming back no matter HOW MANY TIMES YOU TURN IT OFF. I already "enabled" files on demand and the column WILL NOT GO AWAY. I really dont want to switch to something else so any help would be appreciated.

What I found was the Onedrive status column CAN'T be permanently removed as long as you have 'Files On Demand' enabled.

how do i remove the 'status' column in windows explorer - permanently!

Right. Am I disabling it properly in that video? They took out the checkbox indicating Files On demand Status.
