    Windows Photo Viewer replacement

Windows photo viewer has been around since W7? It has almost zero options and has become long in the tooth. [ Looked at Microsoft photo app] and it has terrible reviews. Need a replacement for W10/W11, but not super fancy i.e. adobe etc. Appreciate any suggestions. Tx

I still like Windows Photo Viewer. With it's lack of any significant features it's still by far the fastest way to take a quick look at a photo.

For something more feature-rich you may like to look at IrfanView, something I also use when I need to do more than just view a photo.

    My go to program is:

    FocusOn Image Viewer

I do have other photo viewers/ editors installed or portable if I want more advanced features.

You'd better state which options you're looking for as there are many choices of image viewer/ editor.

Open Microsoft Store and look for 'One Photo Viewer' it can do almost whatever you want Or just open a list of pictures and go forward or back, no need to close one to open another.

Yes I do like it for quick view of photo's etc. But the problem I have is printing the photo i.e "Fit picture to frame" always prints differently then the view before print, meaning the edges are cropped horizontally. 4x6 prints, printer canon A6 size selected. 8x10 landscape, one page shown prints 2. Margins are zero. My go around is to open pic with excel, select landscape and bring it out to just short of excel margins and it prints perfectly. With Excel its WYSIWYG, not so much with Windows Photo viewer.

Will try the 2 suggested apps, Tx

I just use the Photos app for a quick view. For any serious editing I use Adobe LIghtroom.
