Well I just tried a monitored install of a program then uninstalled it:

It worked fine. Except that you might get an unexpected reboot after uninstall completes if you don't configure settings first.

All traces removed and it detected only relevant traces unlike some other software installation monitoring utilities that I've use that will monitor all changes made to the system during install and not just those relating to the software that is being installed.

Anyway after a reboot and a manual file/ folder/ task scheduler/ registry search I can find no leftovers.

ok so out of curiosity i installed it . it's really slow it took forever to scan software installed on my PC.
but it did find a lot of leftovers and some old programs i (supposedly) deleted ages ago , all and all 7GB of redundant crap...
uninstalled all of it (batch,which is nice) , took even longer i went to bed eventually lol.
but yea , i'm happy everything seems gone and my PC is still up and running lol

The functionality of Uninstalr will be naturally added to jv16 PowerTools in the near future.

In other words, free now, paid later. It looks more like a promo for the cleaning app jv16 PowerTools. I will pass.

Many entries, it supposedly finds, are not even there. According to actual tests, HiBit Uninstaller is still the best.

Exactly, if he tested it based on those ghost entries, then this junk is the best in cleaning the nonexistent junk.

Well these types of uninstaller apps are not supposed to be used for uninstalling security software but I suppose they could be used to remove detected leftovers after running the dedicate removal tool or uninstaller.

I think that you're probably correct to guess that it will become a paid product.

FYI: I have another cleanup tool that often also automatically detects some non existent and also some existing entries after a reboot when a program has been uninstalled. I don't see that as an issue.

Usually it's folders that are deleted on boot by the uninstall routine but the third party uninstaller has already logged them for removal after reboot. If they're already gone anyway it's a non issue.

I will try uninstalling PDFgear using HiBit and see if it leaves any more that the one leftover that remained after using Uninstalr to remove the same program.

Hibit unintaller vs Unistallr. Both leave the same single leftover after using each program to uninstall PDFGear.

According to the author after test installing 28 apps:

7-Zip, AIMP, AllDup, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Updates, Audacity, Blender, Bonjour, Core Temp, Evernote, FastStone Image Viewer, FileZilla, Foxit PDF Reader, Internet Download Manager, IrfanView, iTunes, KMPlayer, KeePass 2, Mailbird, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Maintenance Service, Netflix, Paint.net, Spotify, TikTok, Winamp, Winrar and Winzip.

Anyway for me, it's worked fine. I'm keeping the other uninstallers that I typically use. Those being Hibit, Geek, and AUP.

If this becomes a paid product then I'll get rid of it.

I tried it on my HP laptop I've been using for 3 years. It only found remnants forom one uninstalled program Adobe Acrobat which was about 20 entries in the registry. I've been using Revo to uninstall programs so that seems to have done a good job. Uninstalr restarted the PC without warning which is poor software design practice and on restart ran a batch file to delete the entries so be warned.

Agreed. This was already mentioned in Post#12. The restart option can be configured.

Improvement: Added Uninstall to the Right Click menu, and you can now uninstall a single app by simply performing Right Click > Uninstall with it.
Improvement: Microsoft Store apps are now detected better. Previously their name or publisher data could be partially incorrect or missing.
Improvement: Added an option to the Settings page for user to choose the level of leftover data scanning. With this setting, it’s now possible to use Uninstalr to only run and automate the uninstallers of the apps that are being removed and without any additional leftover data removal.
Improvement: Portable app and leftover app detection is now more accurate.
Improvement: The distinction between Show All Data and Uninstall views is now better. The Show All Data view no longer displays the Uninstall button, either.
Improvement: The program now uses less RAM to operate. In some systems, the program might fail to start because of Out Of Memory error. This issue is not yet fully fixed, but it should now occur be even more rare.
Improvement: The Uninstallation data view now shows a tip explaining that the view might contain non-existing paths. This is done, because sometimes running an app’s uninstaller actually creates new data to the system. By listing non-existing paths, these paths will also be removed during the uninstallation.

Fix: Changing the user interface language and then clicking Save Settings doesn’t always work. That is, the newly changed language setting is not saved.

Fix: The program assumes that Windows PowerShell is installed in the system and available. If it’s not, an error message was shown in such systems. This is now fixed and the program no longer assume that PowerShell is available.

IMO .... The automatic reboot after uninstall needs to be turned off by default at installation, let the user make that choice.
