    VirusTotal

The general consensus is four hits and you toss. Behaviors look benign.

Don't use these unless there is a specific need.

I use WinAero Tweaker to disable the acrylic blur at login and change the icon, title and menu bar fonts with no problems.

Win 10 Tweaker Unwanted Application - Uninstall instructions, and PC cleanup

What do you guys think? I have Winaero installed on my system, Win 10 Pro, and Norton Security does not flag this program.
I tried to download the "Winaero Tweaker" via a button on the winaero.com website and ended up with "McAffee virus alert" popups that wanted me to pay for virus protection, and eventually froze my PC. I turned it off, and restarted ok, but I'm still getting the popups! What I downladed came from the "PC App Store", and Googling that shows that it's known as a "PC App Store Adware Virus".
The same pop ups (but downloaded elsewhere) are mentioned here...
Solved: McAfee Support Community - McAfee you are at risk pop up! - McAfee Support Community

Does anyone know where I can download the "Winaero Tweaker" (when I get rid of the popups) without having all this hassle?

Sort out your browser. It's displaying web push notifcations "Fake McAfee" warnings because you allowed notifications when visiting some website.

See instructions for commonly used browsers here:

    https://www.mcafee.com/support/?loca...l=article-view

    As for Winaero Tweaker:

    Official download links are here:

    Winaero Tweaker

However if you didn't understand the pitfalls of web push notifications then I suggest that you don't use this program without a backup.

If using Edge - In Edge's address bar copy and paste:

    edge://settings/content/notifications

    Press Enter.

    Remove the offending website

Otherwise refer to the link I posted for other browsers.
