Google Drive for Desktop., multiple instances of virtual drives

This has been a problem since the introduction of Google Drive for Desktop. This image shows the first two links direct links to my local drive and virtual drive, and the third, (Z:) Google Drive, which appears when Google Drive is mounted

The problem is, instead of "(Z:) Google Drive" (Z = the drive letter I chose for the virtual drive), it takes you here



"Other Computers" bring you here



"My Computer" gets me this



Which finally leads me here, the destination



this option



goes here



eventually ending here, another virtual drive



I was fine with the way Google Drive used to be. One virtual drive is bad enough, but two? Can somebody please explain this mess to me?

One is local and the one with a cloud is the one in the cloud

Z is just the drive letter for the drive
