Hi, FWIW I've just updated my weather app to the same version- it's fine.

    Thanks for your reply.

No, you have no control over which version of Store app you run. There are other ways to get weather reports of course.

As for EdgeView2- if you have read the news item I linked for you it says:

The WebView2 Runtime provides the underlying web platform for WebView2 applications. Most end users will likely never hear about or interact with the runtime directly, but through the applications it enables.
i.e. its presence is not visible in the normal way.

    I found these related folders:
microsoft weather app updated and not work-1.jpg

    That also shows the version.

or should I download and install WebView2 manually?

I use at 90% firefox and 10% chrome
I have never used microsft edge or internet explorer

See if it's already installed (and the version):
microsoft weather app updated and not work-1.jpg

    More:
    How-to-check-for-and-install-WebView2

I can't comment on the relationship between Edge and the runtime being installed- clearly it's used by numerous apps, and seems to be expected to be present.

I did find a thread where someone (albeit with a somewhat hacked O/S) was being prompted to install it, and how they chose to stop it being offered- but they were wrongly relating it to a version of MS Office.

    Updating of WebView2

Updating of WebView2 generally follows the Microsoft Edge Stable release schedule which is about once every 1-2 months.
    What is your Edge version?

You have 22H2, so shouldn't be too far out of date.

113 now. That may be why you don't have the runtime.

No point in disabling Edge- there are some things built in to the O/S that use Edge irrespective of your default browser choice.
