    PowerShell Has No Command Prompt

    On up-to-date Windows 10 Pro 22H2 [build 19045.2846] ...

I can open PowerShell, however there is no command prompt:

Consequently, I can't do anything with PowerShell. Same happens if I run as Administrator, or from the Administrator account.

In 2020 this was raised as a bug, and the proposed work-around at the time was to ensure that the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service was not disabled. However, in my case the service is running and still I have the problem.

Is anyone aware of a solution? Thanks for your help.

    Hello @Bulldog,

    - Have you tried a computer Restart ? ?
    - Have you changed anything in the Console Properties ?
    - Did anything specific happen BEFORE this started ?

Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for your help.

Yes, I did restart my computer. It's amazing how a restart is the solution to so many problems, but it did not help here.

I have not changed anything in console properties. If you're aware of a particular property setting that might solve my problem, I'd like to know about it.

I try to be aware of what goes on with my computer, so I can possibly help myself diagnose a problem. In this case, nothing unusual happened to my computer in the recent pass.

I wonder if SFC would report-repair any problems.

    There were no corrupt files.

It doesn't seem like folks are familiar with this problem, which is fine. I appreciate everyone's efforts in any case.

When I find a solution I'll post back to this thread.
