Can I Remove Unwanted Sources from Windows Media Player?

I recently reverted back to using Windows Media Player from Groove Music. Mainly because Groove kinda sucks and has all been abandoned with half the features (like visualizations) never being finished.

Anyway, I noticed today something new. Now in my WMP window, I have several of my portable hard drives being listed as sources on the left side. I don't want this, and it never happened on old versions of Windows (like Windows Seven for example). I tried removing the drives in Device Manager, but when the reinstall themselves at the next boot, they just reappear in the menu of WMP again.

How can I remove these as sources from WMP permanently?

    WMP,
    Organise,
    Customise navigation pane.

Clear the checkboxes next to entries you do not want to see.
