Suddenly Unable To Use Win Fax and Scan RPC Server Not Found

I say suddenly but it may have been since a few major updates that I cannot send Faxes at all.
I get an error RPC server not found in addition even though I have set my default Cover Page it insists that it isn't found.
It's a nuisance to say the least as I use it every now and again with merchants.
I have checked Google results for that error and none of the fixes helped.
None of the fixes in these forums helped either.
    Any ideas folks?
BTW the phone line has been checked and it is in full working order.

The application was working fine for years and suddenly this happens which makes me surmise that an update scupper3ed the darn thing.
It also is no good in Windows 11.

Just a thought, but maybe one of the updates has turned it OFF [ un-checked the Windows Fax and Scan Box ].

To check this, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features On or Off. Scroll down to Printing and Document Services and make sure that it is Checked [ I have turned mine off as shown below ] . . .

    I hope this helps.

Doing this from a tablet as I have decorators in. Pretty sure that was on but will double check once I can power up my PC.
    It's under dust sheets a.t.m.
I was beginning to think my post would go unanswered, so thank you very much for responding.

Tried what you suggested but there is no entry where you have one.
The application worked for years where it is now however so something changed.

This gets stranger. I tried for the zillionth time to remove the account and add a new one but this time something clicked as it got as far as dialing then failed.
My home phone connects to the same outlet and it works fine. I hear dial tone, but then Fax n Scan errors out.
I can't find anything in Event Viewer so maybe it's my phone cord.

This is strange. I can hear (very faintly) the software going through its paces, I think there's a small speaker on the card but it's so faint that it's difficult to make out what it's doing. It gets dial tone but never dials the number and that is when it fails.
I'm going to try and see if I can reinstate the original drivers.

...and that didn't help. Dial tone, then a click and no number dialled with the failure notice popping up.

    SOLVED

I tried to go back to the previous driver and there was no choice to do so. So I uninstalled Fax and Scan from Settings/Apps/Optional Features, rebooted and reinstalled it, rebooted and then it gave me a choice to wind the driver back, that enabled full features of the software and fax is now back in working order.

    Hope this helps somebody.

    Thanks for your help.
