How to style text in Notepad++

I am using Notepad++

How to style some text (not whole page) e.g. underline, italic, bold, strike... in Notepad++?

E.g. I want to type something like this "Hello and good morning everyone"

You asked a very interesting question. I have been using Notepad++ for a long time to edit xml files and I always assumed it could do what you are asking. However, upon researching this it really can't be done. Notepad++ is a text editor and as such doesn't deal with things like underline and colors. To do this you need a word processor which allows formatting. Jarte and Wordpad, for example, do this and of course all the large word processors do.

I'm glad you asked the question because I learned something here today.

Okay, here's a more appropriate answer to the problem. I know Notepad++ can do it and I saw it in a text file who's code was Python I think it was. The bottom line here is that it's based on the type of code set in the Style Configuration in Notepad++. Since Notepad++ is meant more for code then normal everyday text this is appropriate.

Say you have HTML code. You can style that the way you want configured in the Styles Configuration. Same for C++ or C# or PHP or some other code. Understand? notepad++ - Are font sizes only global in Notepad ++? - Super User

Is there some software lighter than microsoft word that can style the text? (I find using microsoft word a bit laggy and slower than notepad++)

I checked yesterday responding to your post and the Notepad++ Github Repo didn't seem to have any that I saw. I used the search terms, "font" and "style" in the browser find mechanism (Control + F).
