    It is Acronis True Image.

I have been using two disk utilities for over 20 years which are Acronis True Image(ATI) and EaseUS Partition Master(EPM): ATI to backup/restore partitions and EPM to create/edit partitions.
Recently I found disk copy feature with EPM and started using it to copy partitions. The problem happened when I tried copying a whole disk. This is when I started this thread. The problem is with using EPM.
In response to hsehestedt's post, I launched ATI to do his suggestion, then found this utility includes disk copy functionality. The work was diverted from backup to disk copy, and the resultant new disk worked fine. This is when I posted the update.

Using ATI instead, I did exactly what hsehestedt suggested using Macrium. And this also worked fine.

Sorry, this ended up being a convoluted reply.

I using Clonezilla. Clonezilla - Screenshots and Photos
Opensource free and works.. a bit outdated in the design... But it does a great job..
a tip is to read the manual.. as in advance settings there is some good stuff.... and it has not a super fancy nice GUI that hold your hand all the way.

    To all people...
And always remember............ Backup, Backup and Backup...... before doing anything with partitions and disks... one wrong and the data is gone... and Data-recovery is expensive if you have to get help...... Backups is free

"Backup, Backup and Backup" - I agree! But also, test your backups once in a while.

Back when I was working for a large software company, one of my colleagues worked with a major bank that discovered that there was a fault in their backup scheme. They lost some critical data because they didn't do testing on their backups. They lost millions of dollars because of that one fault.
