Are there ways to protect Windows apps with passwords?

Android has several apps that lock apps with passwords, so that whenever I try to open an app protected in such way I get a pop-up asking me to enter the assigned password to let locked apps to launch. Simple like that.

Are there equivalent ways for Windows 10? TIA.

If by "apps" you mean Windows store apps, there is no need for such functionality, in Windows store apps run in the context of a user.
Therefore your apps already are locked with your Windows account credentials.

Apps are installed system wide as well as per user, another user on same PC can run same apps that are system wide installed, but there is no way this could compromise your apps.

The only thing you would achieve by locking apps is locking them from yourself which makes no sense.

If it's something simple, like to block access by kids, have a look at sordum.org's small, free, portable AskAdmin.

I swear by it (my granddaughter probably swears at it).

    Hope this helps...

Thanks, RickC, it seems to be exactly what I need. However, you said it's free, but after I added an app I want to protect with a password and clicked on the Password Properties button, it opened a dialog box asking me to register to use the feature. Then it opened another dialog where I entered my email address, then I clicked on the Buy Now button, which sent me to a page where I was asked to buy the product.

I'll give it a try when I purchase it. Thanks again.
